Claude Rains as imperious David Belasco
My favorite scenes from "Lady with Red Hair" (1940), with english subtitles. It's a biopic with Miriam Hopkins as famed actress Mrs. Leslie Carter and Claude Rains as David Belasco, theatrical producer, director, and playwright. It's one of my favorite performances by Mr. Rains. I hope you enjoy his scenes in this film as much as I do!

This is a wonderful epic about the power of forgivness. What is broken can be fixed if we open our hearts. Pride, hurt, his character was hurt, broken, torn apart...and she knew it. When we fall in love we risk being vulnerable. She, a much younger woman, can't bear the thought of having hurt the man she realizes she loves deeply. A good ending, a hopeful ending, both eith eyes and finally hearts opened. His "Shall we go home!" Is the sweetest voice of forgiveness...some times we all need to hear that.

Yes, that part with him and Julie at the table. The way he looked at her. She looking at the menu saying everything is so expensive. They start to dance. I use to roll the DVD back to place until I wore the DVD out. I am enjoying Rod Steiger's narrative on this. He gives a deeper look into the making of this movie. 💖

He sure did awaken the sensual part in her. Rod was so good in this part. He was sexier in this movie more than Omar Sharif. Not that I'd sneeze at Omar Sharif. Sir Ralph Richardson was an incredible Actor also. This whole movie was excellent. The score was incredible. Rod played that part. Rod is describing exactly Kamorasky was. I never thought Kamorasky was a villian in this movie. Alec Guinness another great actor. This picture was excellent! It also told history.

The part where nurse ratchet tells Billy she’s going to tell his mother, Miss Puritanical, something so natural and purely innocent, Billy‘s mother would could make him feel so guilty over something so purely innocent that he had to kill himself over. When McMurphy starts to strangle nurse ratchet was brilliant. The whole movie was brilliant and deserved every award it won. Do you notice Billy stutters thank his mother for that Miss Puritanical. Ratche rubs the salt in the wound to make it just that much worse. Great performance from the entire crew. Don’t get upset or keep calm whenever one of the patients had a problem but if you notice the little nurse’s face throughout the whole movie, how frightened she always looked. SMH 🙂‍↔️

I love this movie and I love this ending. We believe that it is a simple opposition of “marriage of convenience” vs. romantic passion. Logically, love passion must win. But it fails. And passionate love springs up where we least expected it: in the heart of the husband.
